Testing one, two: Follies donates for theater mics

The Ormond Beach Follies gifted Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center Supervisor Marc Schwartz a check for $1,267, for the purchase of eight new theater microphones.

The FOLLIES will perform March 22-24, at the Performing Arts Center.

Jewish Foundation fundraises, fights hunger

Gloria Max, director of the Jewish Foundation of Volusia-Flagler, is currently soliciting donations for the Jerry Dolinger Food Bank, 470 Andalusia Ave., which will be matched through the Feinstein Foundation Hunger Challenge.

The initiative is part of a $1 million challenge grant offered by Alan Shawn Feinstein, of Rhode Island. The funds will be split amongst nonprofit organizations across the country, through April.

The foundation raised $1,600 through this initiative last year. The food bank also fed 24,500 people in 2012.

Audition now: Daytona Playhouse

Auditions for a production of “You Can’t Take It With You,” at the Daytona Playhouse, 100 Jessamine Blvd., will open Sunday, March 24, and run through Monday, March 25.

The show is looking for 12 males (ages 20-70s) and seven females (20s to 50s), to perform onstage in May.
