Owners of the Ormond Beach thrift shop Serendipity Eclectic Boutique have a knack for finding rare collectibles for cheap prices.

Paul Caccone purchased two dove sculptures from a yard sale because he thought they were neat.

"I walked about two blocks away and I said to my wife 'I'm gonna go back and buy the birds,'" Caccone said. "They were only a dollar a piece and if we get five bucks we can make a little bit of profit. I did a bit of research and my heart stopped."

Caccone found out the dove sculptures were made in 1975 by American Sculptor Cleo Hardwig and were selling online for $385.

"I kept trying to figure out if they were real or not real," Caccone said. "They appear to be. Hardwig is a very famous sculptor, some of her work sells for over $2,000."

Paul Caccone owns the boutique with his wife Kathy. They get a lot of their inventory from local yard sales.

"We very rarely leave Ormond Beach," Paul Caccone said. "And we do very well. The jewelry we find is incredible. It's amazing what's out there."
