Hurricane Sandy has prompted city officials to cancel all of Friday's outdoor activities at city sports fields.

Ormond Beach is canceling all outdoor activities at the city’s sports fields Friday afternoon, in anticipation of inclement weather.
All activities at the Ormond Beach Sports Complex and Nova Community, in addition to other city fields, are scheduled to re-open Saturday, should no additional adverse weather conditions make their way into the area.

Hurricane Sandy, which is currently heading north, a few hundred miles off the coast of Florida, has also prompted county officials to halt vehicle traffic on the beach, as well as reroute the weekend bus schedule.
