Whoever said that “parents just don’t understand” obviously didn’t attend Pine Trail Elementary School.

The Parent-Teacher Association at Pine Trail has made a $30,000 donation to the school, to be spent on new computers and technology.

“With technology as the driving force in access and speed of information, (we) believe in investing in technology for (our) students and their future,” PTA officials said, in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

The funds will help update the school’s media center computer lab, with 35 of the latest model iMac computers, making Pine Trail the only elementary school in the county with an iMac Lab.

School staff will also hold training sessions on the computers for parents, students and teachers, and is considering starting an after-school Technology Club, as well.
