Police investigating bomb threat on U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach

The investigation began after an OBPD officer saw a vehicle leaving a wooded area on U.S 1 earlier today, police report.

A potential bomb threat has closed U.S. 1 in Ormond Beach from Nova Road to Airport Road as police investigate the incident, Ormond Beach Police reported.

Capt. Chris Roos said that one of the agency's officers stopped a vehicle after seeing it leaving a wooded area on U.S. 1. The officer identified a suspicious object in the truck, he said, and the driver is being investigated. Multiple police cars and a bomb squad are on scene.
