John William Brandone, who was identified thanks to an anonymous tip, was arrested after someone recognized him inside a grocery store after seeing him on the news. He was wanted on a felony battery warrant after he headbutted a woman on her way to her car in Ormond Beach on May 30. Brandone threw her on the ground, straddled her and delivered blows to her face, according to the police report. A bystander was able to pull Brandone off the woman, and Brandone fled the area before police could arrive.

The victim suffered a facial fracture, damage to her teeth and lacerations to her face, according to the police report.

Brandone was released on a $25,000 bond from the Volusia County Branch Jail the same day he was arrested, court documents show.
