Randall Hood, son of Rep. David Hood, dies in drowning

The homeowner discovered him in the pool.

 Randall Clay Hood, 26, of Ormond Beach, the son of Rep. David Hood, died May 29 in an apparent drowning at 15 Colonial Circle.

Ormond Beach police said that an adult male was found floating in a swimming pool by the homeowner at 8:17 a.m. He was confirmed to be dead by police and fire personnel.

Hood represents District 25 in the Florida House of Representatives. He confirmed that his son had died and issued the following statement:

“Our family is grieving over the unexpected loss of our son Clay. We are completely devastated by this news and are searching for answers about his death. We ask for privacy and your prayers at this time. We are working on his funeral arrangements and will provide details when they are available.”
