THURSDAY, JULY 14

Museum of Arts & Sciences: A Taste of Italy

5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cici and Hyatt Brown Museum of Art. Joined by S.R. Perrott, the event will be an evening of knowledge on Italian wine. Samples of wines from Italy will be provided for tasting. Ages 21 and older.  Admission is $15 for museum members and $25 for future members. Advanced purchase of admission is required and can be done by calling the museum at 255-0285.

FRIDAY, JULY 15 

Summer Sounds Concert Series: HayFire Trio

6 p.m. at Rockefeller Gardens. Free. Grab a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy. Call 676-3241.

Open Gym

6 to 8 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Gymnastics Center, 432 N. Nova Road. Anyone between the ages of 8-21. Light spotting. Coaches will be on the floor at all times. A waiver to participate must be signed by each person and anyone under 18 years of age must have the waiver signed by a parent. Cost $5 per participant. SATURDAY, JULY 16

Ormond Library Summer Book Sale

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St. Hosted by the Friends of the Ormond Beach. Hundreds of new and recycled books, VHS tapes, DVDs, CDs, children’s books and magazines will be available for sale. All items will be buy one, get one free. Ormond Police ‘Cops & Joggers’ Beach 5K Fundraiser

7 a.m. at Andy Romano Park. Race will start at 8 a.m., and will take place on the beach adjacent to the park. The course runs south, turns round and returns. Proceeds will help fund community programs of the Ormond Police Department. The first 300 runners will receive a flag football belt to wear during the race, and officers will be situated along the course and try to remove as many flags from runners as possible.

After the race, runners with at least one remaining flag will receive an ‘I out ran the Ormond Police Department” shirt and those with no flags remaining will receive an “I got busted by the Ormond Beach Police Department” shirt. The post-race shirt give-away to runners, awards ceremony and social will take place at the Beach Bucket Grill after the race. Medals in 84 age and gender categories will be awarded along with two overall best-time plaques. Also, prizes are awarded for best costumes so runners are encouraged to dress in their best “bad guy” get-up.

Look Good Feel Better

During this session, trained cosmetologists will teach female cancer patients beauty techniques to help restore their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
