Ormond Beach resident David Romeo is the latest candidate to announce his intent to run for City Commission to represent Zone 4, currently held by Rob Littleton.

According to a press release, Romeo, a sales engineer at Miller-Leaman, Inc., a water filtration system manufacturing company, has served as the head of two committees for the Volusia Manufacturers Association, one of which designed and implemented the Lou Fifer Education Fund Golf Tournament which has continued since its implementation in 2011. This event has contributed over $125,000 to local education.

If elected, Romeo said he wants to help focus on a responsible plan for Ormond Beach's future. He said he will pull citizens, developers, committees and businesses together to make decisions about development. He added that he believes the city can see new development while still preserving gardens, recreation areas, beaches and walking and biking trails.

Romeo moved to Ormond in 1997. He is actively involved in church and the school communities of his children, and he has volunteered as a basketball, soccer, baseball and ice hockey coach for his sons.
