Seabreeze boys, girls advance to state golf championships

The Sandcrabs' girls' team won the regional team title, while Mainland's Loa Johannsson won the individual title at Dubsdread Golf Course.

Seabreeze's boys and girls golf teams are both headed to the state championships.

They will be joined by Mainland's Loa Johannsson, who took individual medalist honors at the Region 3-2A girls' meet, Nov. 2 at Dubsdread Golf Course in Orlando, with an even-par 70.

Seabreeze won the team title with a score of 339. Amelia Cobb (74) finished third overall, and Riley Fletcher and Hannah Ashton tied for ninth with 84s.

The Seabreeze boys finished third with a 330 at Dubsdread on Nov. 1 to take the final team qualifying spot. Brandon Godfrey finished second overall with a 74, while Tyler Lunsford was 13th with an 81. New Smyrna Beach won the team title with a 317.

The Class 2A state championships will be Nov. 12-13 at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills.
