Seabreeze High class American Musical Theatre will perform a 'Glee'-style musical review.

BY EMILY BLACKWOOD

A class at Seabreeze High School is getting ready to draw the curtain for their "Glee"-inspired production of a musical revue by John Kander and Fred Ebb, titled "The World Goes Round."

Opening Thursday, Dec. 5 at  the school, the show is performed by students of American Musical Theater, one of the longest-running of its kind in Volusia County.

Under the direction of Chris Endsley, AMT is a group of students that audition for the “'Glee'-like” class. Michael Truillo, 18, has been involved for four years and said that all involved are intelligent.

"It gives me an opportunity to express myself outside the classroom," he said.

And like the show "Glee," AMT is a talented but diverse group of students.

"AMT is amazing," said Summer Foley, 16. "I honestly think it's better then 'Glee'. We're all a very close family, but its really diverse. We have basketball players that perform. It's so much fun."

Foley said that everyone has worked extremely hard on this performance. Last year, they were not as successful and were only able to put on one show.

This year's performance times are 7 p.m. Dec. 5, 6, and 7, and 2 p.m. Dec. 8.

"We have this crazy energy," said Foley. "I feel like we're just gonna show everybody what we're capable of."
