Senior Center adds Zumba classes

Bingo isn't the only activity found at the Ormond Beach Senior Center. Director Teddy Blauvelt says there's always something fun going on.

The Ormond Beach Senior Center, at 351 Andrews St., has added $5 zumba classes to its weekly schedule. Led by Maritza Moorhouse, the classes are 9-10 a.m. Tuesdays.

“It's not that we (need) the extra (traffic), because we're a busy little place already,” said Teddy Blauvelt, director. “I just like to get more of the word out, because there are so many more people out there sitting home bored when they don't have to. ... Friday afternoons, (for example), offer a rousing game of bingo here. Also, our Wednesday afternoon dance is something to behold.”
