Retail theft. A 31-year-old Ormond Beach man told police he forgot to pay for over $700 worth of merchandise at a local supermarket because he was on the phone with his employer.

The store loss prevention employee saw the man and his two children walk out of the store with a shopping cart full of items, according to the police report. The man told police that he didn't intend to steal and offered to pay for everything. He was advised the store was not allowed to do this and that they would be pursuing charges.

Another loss prevention employee said he had seen the man shoplift earlier in the day too. He was taken to jail.

Driving without a license. A 40-year-old Daytona Beach man was arrested after he was stopped for making an illegal U-turn.

According to his arrest report, the reporting officer heard the man say "I'm going to jail," while shaking and moving things around in the car. The officer asked him why he thought this, and the man said that his license is suspended, and that this was not his first time getting caught driving without a valid one.

His mother was in the vehicle with him, and was also arrested on drug charges. Both were taken to jail.
