The shrimp boat beached near Cardinal Avenue was successfully pulled out to sea at 2:30 a.m. on the morning of Oct. 31. The Coast Guard had initially reported the attempt would be made at high tide during the day.

The first try, on Oct 30, was unsuccessful. The boat was pulled from the beach but got stuck on a sandbar. A tow line broke as they tried to pull it off the sand bar.

The boat had been on the beach since Oct. 15. There were reports that an anchor line snapped and the boat washed ashore but no official report has been made.
