Seabreeze sends four swimmers to state; a final look at Sandcrabs football stats; Ormond Beach Pride update; and soccer previews.

Seabreeze swimmers advance to state title meet
Miranda Creggar, Makenzie McNamara, Ivy Rizzi and Marlena Pigliacampi advanced to the Nov. 8 State Swimming and Diving Finals, to be held at Orlando’s Central Florida YMCA Aquatic Center.
The four swimmers will compete in the girls 400 relay, and Pigliacampi will also compete in the individual 50 freestlye and 100 butterfly.

Junior quarterback Connor Blair ended the season 100-for-160 (62.5%) for 1,404 yards. He threw for 16 touchdowns and five interceptions in 10 games.
Blair was 10-for-18 and threw for 86 yards and two interceptions in the Sandcrabs’ 27-9 loss to Mainland.
Running back Trey Rodriguez, also a junior, ran for 120 yards on 14 carries (8.6-yard average) against Mainland.
Rodriguez ended the season with 925 yards and 10 touchdowns on 114 carries. He also had 15 receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
The team’s leading receiver, Charles Nelson, only played in seven games due a leg injury. He ended the season with 357 yards and two touchdowns.
The Sandcrabs up-tempo offense ran for a combined 1,692 yards and 20 touchdowns, averaging 169.2 yards per game.
Lady Renegades win tournament
The Ormond Beach Lady Renegades 16U team won the National Softball Association's Fastpitch Stars and Stripes Tournament Nov. 2-3, in Ormond Beach.
The Lady Renegades lost three games during the seeding rounds, but beat South Daytona Stingrays Black team in the semi-final.
In the championship game, the Lady Renegades run-ruled the South Daytona Stingrays White team, 12-2, and won the tournament title for the second consecutive year.
Pride goes 1-1 in bowl games, Varsity to play in regionals Nov. 15-18
The Ormond Beach Pride Tiny Mites and Mighty Mites played in bowl games last weekend. The Mighty Mites and coach Carl Bentley won their game in Gainesville. The Tiny Mites lost a tough bowl game.
The Varsity team, after clinching its second consecutive conference title Oct. 28, head back to regionals Nov. 15-18 in Ocala.
Local high schools start soccer season
The Seabreeze Sandcrabs boys team plays home games Nov. 12 and 14, against Pine Ridge and Winter Springs, respectively. The games begin at 5 p.m. for JV, and 7 p.m. for varsity.
The Seabreeze girls play Nov. 9, 12 and 14, against Creekside, University and Oak Ridge, respectively. The Sandcrabs play Creekside and Oak Ridge at home, 7 p.m. for varsity, and play at University, a 4 p.m. start.
The Mainland Buccaneers boys team plays at Umatilla, 7 p.m. Nov. 8, and Crescent City, 3:45 p.m. Nov. 14 at home.
The Mainland girls team has games Nov. 8, 12 and 14, against Umatilla, Deltona and Evans, respectively. The Buccaneers travel to Umatilla, 5 p.m, and Evans, 6 p.m., and play Deltona, 3:45 p.m., at home.
