Following ex-Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher's move to Texas A&M, the Seminoles' 2018 recruiting class has been on the rocks. Mainland defensive back Johnathan Huggins — a four-star cornerback and the No. 63-ranked played in the state of Florida, according to ESPN — announced his decision to decommit from FSU via Twitter. In addition, the Buccaneers' D'Marcus Adams — a four-star wide receiver and the No. 64-ranked player in Florida — reaffirmed his commitment to the Seminoles after it was announced that former Oregon coach Willie Taggart would be FSU's next head coach.

An Ormond 14-and-under recreation flag football team, Ormond Beach Leisure Services, recently hosted its third-annual "Senior Bowl" for five members of the team who are aging out of the league. The game was an exhibition where the players got to play every position, including QB.

Team White beat Team Red 4-3 on a last possession touchdown pass from Jake Vollinger to Zach Rice. Sarah Mallar was voted game MVP with a touchdown catch, an extra point catch and many other big plays.
