Seabreeze boys’ golf team goes 1-1-1

The Seabreeze boys’ golf team recently got a win and a loss in a tri-match at Sugar Mill Country Club in New Smyrna. Sanford Seminole shot a team-best 154, and the Sandcrabs tied with New Smyrna at 173. Their match on Sept. 6 in Palm Coast was canceled due to rain. On Thursday Sept. 13 the team plays Spruce Creek at the Spruce Creek Fly-In.

Ormond Beach Pride goes 3-0

Last weekend the Ormond Beach Pride football teams took on the Hastings Warriors. After all five levels had a bye last week, the Mighty Mites, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams were back on the field Sept. 8. The three teams won by a combined score of 90-0.

The Junior Varsity scored on its opening drive when Josh Davis threw a touchdown pass to Anthony Rauseo. Ryan Shelton, Wyatt Denslow, Juanye Tillman and Hunter Goan also added to the offensive production by scoring rushing touchdowns in the 35-0 victory.

Denzel Houston was a key performer in the Varsity’s 41-0 win. Houston scored a rushing touchdown, recovered a fumble for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to Na-Keven Atkins, who also added a rushing touchdown of his own.

Next week all five levels of the Pride play the Daytona Beach Hurricanes on the road.
