Golf scores: A hole-in-one and Pro-Am results

Bob Layman hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole Feb. 18, at River Bend Golf Club.

Riviera Country Club held the Riviera Pro-Am March 1, and the winners are listed as follows:

Low Pro: Tyler Smith - 67

Low Team: Jim Devine and John Simko - 66

1st: Doug Powell, Jim Devine and Jack Miceli - 123

2nd: Shane White, John Connors, Bill Feeney and Dave Stamper - 125

3rd: Tyler Smith, Harold Glover, Charlie Williams and John Simko - 126

Green Wave rolling early in baseball season

The Father Lopez baseball team sits at 3-1 early in the 2013 season, and it's getting early production from several players, including seniors Zach Hawk, who is hitting .643 (as of March 4), with seven RBI.

Tommy Roache has collected two wins as a pitcher (as of March 4), despite throwing just 6.1 innings.

Register now for museum tourney

Registration is now open for the Children’s Museum Golf Classic, at Plantation Bay Golf and Country Club.

The third-annual tournament will be held on the Club de Bonmont course Friday, April 12, and is presented by the Guild of the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

The tournament is a four-player, team scramble, with a $125 entry fee per person, or a $500 entry fee per foursome. The event will also include an awards ceremony, silent auction and a buffet dinner.

Deadline for registration is March 29.
