St. James vandalized with red marker

A quote was written on a bench in the church's garden and an alarm sign was torn.

In red marker, the words "only the ieves (thieves) need this much light" were written on a bench in the garden of St. James Episcopal Church. According to the Ormond Beach Police report, the church's pastor discovered the vandalism March 10.

A sign from an old alarm company that is no longer active was also torn from the hinges. The reported damage was already cleaned and discarded prior to police arrival. There are no known suspects at this time.
