One suspect called his arrest the worst mistake of his life. Another told a female undercover officer posing as a prostitute that he was a “squirrel looking for a nut,” then offered to loan her $30 but said that she wouldn’t have to pay it back, according to Gary Davidson, public information officer for Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

It was all part of a multi-agency sting operation that resulted in the arrest of four accused prostitutes and eight men soliciting for their services, Davidson said. The two-day operation was conducted by the Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force. Police departments in Daytona Beach, Holly Hill, New Smyrna Beach, Ormond Beach and South Daytona also participated.

The operation kicked off on Feb. 15, targeting prostitution activity along Daytona Beach’s Ridgewood Avenue corridor. Undercover agents posed as customers and arrested four women who offered sexual services for money. All were charged with prostitution. For two of the suspects, the charge was elevated to a felony because of their prior prostitution arrests — one of them, at least eight times, Davidson said. The next day, the operation switched gears and undercover agents posed as prostitutes. A total of eight men were arrested, including a 74-year-old man who offered an undercover agent $15 for oral sex. The female suspects charged with prostitution were:

Nicole Desantis, 44, Daytona Beach

Ashley Narehood, 31, transient

Natasha Smith, 31, South Daytona

Brenda Usher, 43, Daytona Beach. (Also: possession of drug paraphernalia)

The male suspects charged with soliciting sex were:

Patrick Chapman, 58, Port Orange

Alfonso Cirrito, 74, Ormond Beach

Bradley Harold, 29, Daytona Beach

Marvin Harris, 67, Daytona Beach

Kambiz Khalaji, 49, Ormond Beach

Christopher Milazzo, 48, Edgewater

Lawrence Styger, 64, Port Orange

Rickey Walker, 54, DeLand
