Fingerprints on pawned items led to arrests

Three Ormond Beach people, all of 690 S. Center St., were arrested and charged with residential burglary on Oct. 29. The burglaries involved forced entry, and police were led to the suspects after checking fingerprints on pawned items. The victims identified the items, which were returned to them.

The law requires photo identification and finger prints when items are pawned.

Items taken included jewelry and an I-phone. Evidence shows the burglar consumed alcohol from bottles while at the Cherrywood Drive address.

The dates of the incidents were between Sept. 19 and Oct. 1.

Katherine M. Leder, 39, was charged with burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property for burglaries at 4 Park Crossings Circle and 500 Cherrywood Drive.

Timothy A. Willings, 33, and Scott A. Rogers, 47, were charged with burglary, grand theft, and dealing in stolen property for the burglary at 500 Cherrywood Drive.

Additional charges are pending along with possible additional arrests of other suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ormond Beach Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 676-3514 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-8477.

The case numbers are 14-09-00434 and 14-10-00029.
