Town hall meeting: Granada work to be broken into four phases

Construction on Granada Boulevard, to start in January, will to be broken into four phases and could take nine months to complete, according to a Thursday night town hall meeting.

Residents and business owners learned more about the the Granada Boulevard improvement project Dec. 13, at a City Hall meeting with officials from Ormond Beach Mainstreet and the city.

The project, which begins Jan. 7 and could take nine months to complete, will be organized into four phases.

First, the medians will be built and the road will be resurfaced. Then, the city will add various landscaping elements.

Next, the aerial utilities will be moved underground and new decorative street lights will be added. Finally, landscaping elements will be added to the sidewalks.

The speed limit on Granada, after the construction, will remain the same, 35 mph, and no U-turns will be allowed at the intersections.
