Steve Elston, 510 John Anderson Drive, believes he has photos of the culprits who stole a sign for Donald Trump from his yard, part of an apparent crime wave on the ocean-side highway.

On four occasions, a yard sign for Trump has disappeared from his yard. It always happened at night, so he could not see anything on his security video — until now. In a daring daylight robbery, someone took yet another Trump sign, and this time the footage shows two suspects.

As signs have been stolen, he has replaced them by re-ordering online.

“It’s hilarious,” he said. “I go out every day or so and say, ‘Let’s see if my signs are still here.’”

Elston said a nearby neighbor put his Trump signs in a tree, and that solved the problem. Another also put his in a tree, but apparently not high enough, as they were also taken under a cloak of darkness.

And yet another neighbor had his mounted in concrete and, so far, they are still there.

Elston does not plan on calling police, saying it’s just petit theft. He said the signs cost $29 each.

Keith Walker, spokesman for Ormond Beach police, said they have only received one report of a stolen Trump sign and that was a few weeks ago.
