Ty Lohman, local real estate investor, recently purchased the Aliki Plaza, 378-404 S. Atlantic Ave., for $2.7 million and the Renaissance Center, 431-495 S. Nova Road, for $4.85 million. Lohman said both plazas are well established and he plans to hold them long-term.

The Renaissance Center sale was brokered by his wife Tovah, owner of Starr Real Estate LLC, Ormond Beach.

“We are trying to focus on businesses in our own backyard that we could one day pass to our (son) Tristan,” she said.

Ty Lohman noted there is a lot of construction going on in Ormond Beach, saying the economic growth in Daytona Beach is having a halo effect on surrounding communities.

In the purchase of the Aliki Plaza, Lohman was represented by Carl Lentz, of SVN Alliance. Charles Lichtigman, principal of NAI Realvest/Charles Wayne Commercial, and Brad Gifford, who leases the plaza, negotiated the sale on behalf of the seller, Sunbelt Holdings Daytona LLC, owned by area investor Hugh Upton.

SVN will manage the Renaissance Center and Lichtigman’s firm will manage the Aliki.

Lohman, who.also works with his parents, Nancy and Lowell, in Lohman Property Management, said he plans to make enhancements to the exteriors of the plazas.

Car wash on Granada moves forward

A car wash at Granada Pointe took a big step recently when 1.4 acres were purchased by 1852 Granada Pointe LLC for $1,365,000. The buyer will construct a Cloud10 Car Wash on the site.

John W. Trost, principal and senior advisor at SVN Alliance Commercial Real Estate Advisors, represented both the seller, Granada Pointe Investors LLC, and the buyer.

Cloud10 Car Wash is the newest exterior cash wash available with a touch-screen sale system and new express tunnels, according to an SVN press release.

To allow a car wash in the location, the City Commission voted to allow an amendment to the Planned Business Development in a 3-1 vote earlier this year. Some citizens spoke against the amendment at the meeting.

A Wawa is being constructed at the site. Office, retail and grocery space are still available.

Superwash opens on LPGA

Superwash Express has opened a fifth location in Volusia County at 1881 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach. The business will host a grand opening June 28 and 29 with entertainment.

The car wash opening will create approximately 60 jobs, according to owner Paul Bradley. The state-of-the-art facility covers 4.5 acres and offers full-service detail services, as well as express exterior washes.
