Sheriff cracks down on DUI

Motorists who drive while impaired will face stepped up enforcement and zero tolerance during a series of saturation patrols that the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office kicked off Dec. 20, according to the agency.

Part of an effort to improve road safety, the operation will include a high-visibility concentration of traffic units which will be targeting traffic trouble spots.

Supported by grant funding from the Florida Dept. of Transportation, the DUI enforcement patrols will be conducted throughout 2016.
