Heather Bird's friends and family hadn't heard from her in more then three weeks. But on Saturday, police announced she returned home safe and sound.

Bird, a 28-year-old dancer at Cheaters Gentlemen's Club, was reportedly in Vero Beach. She returned home Friday night.

Earlier in the week, police began an active search for Bird, who was reported missing Sept. 14. She had not been seen by friends or family in more than three weeks.

Last seen by family friend Albert Surratt, Bird appeared jittery and possibly "on something" when he dropped her off for a 3 p.m. shift at Cheaters Sept. 14, according to his police statement. Surratt did not believe Bird to be a drug user, however.

Bird’s mother, Susan Bird, and ex-boyfriend, Chad Selby, told police Bird has been known to leave home for several days or a week, but she always touched base with someone and was never gone for this long.

Susan Bird, who reported Bird missing, also told police her daughter's phone had been off. She also spoke with several of her daughter's friends and no one had heard from her.
