As a result of Hurricane Irma, Turnbull Bay Bridge is underwater.

The Turnbull Bay Bridge in New Smyrna Beach is underwater due to tidal conditions from the currently Category 3 hurricane making its way through the Florida peninsula.. Motorists should avoid the area.

Motorists should detour using Williams Road. Motorists headed westbound should detour and stay on U.S. 1.

People should stay off the roads and avoid walking or driving through flood waters.

Avoid flood water as it may be electrically charged from underground or downed power lines and may hide dangerous debris or places where the ground is washed away.
