Volusia County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Health, is pleased to announce a special "Vax Up" vaccine event from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, April 19, at the Volusia County Fairgrounds, 3150 E. New York Ave., DeLand.

The Moderna vaccine will be administered, with an automatic appointment for a second dose on May 17.

Registration for this event is online through Eventbrite; to sign up, visit https://covidvaccine4-19.eventbrite.com. Appointments are required. Registration will close at 4 p.m. Friday, April 16.

The state continues to schedule appointments for vaccines at the Volusia County Fairgrounds through myvaccine.fl.gov. The website now offers a streamlined scheduling platform for eligible, preregistered users. Rather than receiving a call to schedule an appointment, preregistered individuals should log in to the site to schedule their own appointment from available dates and times. Individuals may also opt-in to receive email and text appointment confirmations, reminders, and messages, as well as self-report if they’ve been vaccinated and no longer need an appointment.

Additional vaccine opportunities are available throughout the county. Individuals should visit the Florida Department of Health’s vaccine locator at https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/vaccines/vaccine-locator for vaccine locations.

For questions, call the Volusia County Citizens Information Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 866-345-0345.
