Pathways Elementary Principal Jason Watson was named the Volusia County Council PTA Principal of the Year on May 4.

Watson was recognized for being an active supporter who attends all of the events of the Pathways PTA, from sock hops to Make a Difference Day and school clean ups.

The nomination letter stated, “Mr. Watson leads by example and sends a message to the Pathways team by not only his constant presence at PTA functions, but also by helping to set-up and breakdown afterwards.”

Rather than asking what can be done to stop a student from causing problems, he is more likely to ask what can be done to help the student.

Working with the PTA the past two years he has secured grants for 61i Pads and accessories for the classrooms.
