Vintage airplane catches on fire at Ormond airport

The plane was a total loss.

Ormond Beach Fire units responded to the Ormond Beach Municipal Airport at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday after a small vintage airplane caught fire inside the hangar.

According to a city press release, the 1960's Piper Pacer was able to be moved from the hangar to extinguish the flames before the fire department arrived. The hangar sustained some damage from fire exposure, and the plane was a total loss. There were no injuries.
