Volusia County Schools closing due to Hurricane Irma

All Volusia County public schools will be closed this Friday and Monday.

Due to Hurricane Irma, all Volusia County public schools will be closed starting Friday, Sept. 8, through Monday, Sept. 11.

All school activities, including athletic games and extended day, scheduled for those days have been cancelled and may be rescheduled. All junior varsity football games have been moved to Wednesday, Sept. 6, or rescheduled for after the hurricane. All varsity football games have been rescheduled to Thursday, Sept. 7.

Volusia County Schools released a statement saying several schools throughout the county will open as shelters on Saturday, but Volusia County Emergency Management has not yet announced further information. Any changes regarding schools closing will be made Monday.
