Volusia County schools collecting donations for Puerto Rico

The school district is accepting $1 donations for the United for Puerto Rico organization.

Volusia County schools collecting donations for Puerto Rico

In hopes to rally its students and staff, Volusia County schools will be collecting $1 donations to go toward the United for Puerto Rico Relief Effort.

Their goal is to collect more than $70,000 thanks to the district's 63,000 students and approximately 7,500 employees. Donations will be accepted from Monday Oct. 2-Friday, Oct. 13. Volusia County Schools will then present their donations to the United for Puerto Rico organization, which was created Beatriz Rosselló, the wife of Puerto Rico's governor.

Local church to hold annual pet blessing

The Grace Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach will soon hold its annual pet blessing.

The blessing will take place on Sunday, Oct. 8. The church is located at 338 Ocean Shore Blvd. All pets are welcome.

'Tis the season for pumpkin patches

The Grace Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach's 17th annual Pumpkin Patch is coming up.

Pumpkins will be delivered to the church on Saturday, Oct. 14 and sales will begin the same day from 10-7 p.m. and continue daily until the end of the month. The church is located at 338 Ocean Shore Blvd.
