As citizens continue with their personal post-hurricane cleanups, the City of Ormond Beach is working to get things back on track.

These are list of updates regarding closures, utilities and post-hurricane matters.

What about FEMA assistance?

FEMA has added 21 more counties eligible for individual assistance, among them Volusia County.

Residents may now apply for federal disaster assistance for uninsured and underinsured damage and losses result of Hurricane Irma. If you preregistered with FEMA, there's no need to apply again. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, as well as for use toward medical, dental, funeral and burial costs.

It should be noted that FEMA cannot duplicate assistance for

already insured losses and damages.

Volusia is one of 37 counties so far eligible for FEMA's Individual Assistance Program.

What about Ormond Beach Utilities?

The city will not be assessing late fees for customers whose bills were due between Sept. 7 and Sept. 15, as long as they are paid by Monday, Sept. 18.

It has also suspended shutting off water service to any of its customers. According to a release, normal water utility business will resume on Monday, Sept. 18.
