One of the Ormond Beach Observer’s most frequent photo contributors, Liza Parchuc is huge on stopping to smell, and photograph, the roses.

“Oftentimes, we all get busy from the annoyances in this world and forget to cease and gaze on the beauty that the Lord provides us,” she said, after photographing a hot pink flower in her backyard.

Born in the Philippines, Parchuc moved to Ormond Beach in 1994.

“Photography is one way of showing my appreciate of God’s creation,” she said. “And nature is my favorite subject, for it is a painting that no one can ever make except God.”

Whether they’re shots taken in her backyard or out and about, Parchuc is anxious to make residents aware of the beauty all around them, to have others see the city through her eyes.
