A reuse water main line broke early Wednesday morning, leaving a large hole in the road.

City crews responded to the intersection of Wilmette Avenue and Center Road after receiving reports at 5:30 a.m., and began work which could take an estimated 12 hours.

The Mallard’s Reach subdivision is currently without water, and once service is restored, residents will be under a boil water alert, the city said.

The city received reports of isolated residences without water earlier this morning.

The city has closed Wilmette Avenue between Nova Road and Orchard Road until further notice.
