A 34-year-old woman was arrested in Michigan on charges related to the 2019 death of her five-month-old son in Ormond Beach.

Ormond Beach Police Officers travelled to Michigan on June 10 to assist the U.S. Marshal's Service in arresting Stephanie Holly, the mother of Daemon Scott who died in the hospital from injuries police believe were a result of child abuse. Her ex-husband, Calib Scott, was arrested in June 2019.

Holly faces three charges related to child neglect, child abuse and negligence. Her bond totals $210,000 as she awaits to be extradited to Florida, according to a press release by OBPD.

“This arrest is another example of great investigative work and collaboration by members of the Ormond Beach Police Department and the State Attorney’s Office," said Police Chief Jesse Godfrey in the press release. "I am confident that justice will be served regarding this difficult investigation and know that the victim, 'Baby Daemon', will be properly represented in a court of law.”
