8:16 a.m. — First block of North Yonge Street
Petit theft. A 37-year-old Ormond Beach woman was issued a notice to appear in court after she stole a White Claw hard seltzer from a local convenience store.
According to the police report, the woman entered the store and stole the alcoholic beverage, valued at $3.72, before leaving. Police made contact with the woman, who admitted to the crime. The convenience store wished to pursue charges, and the woman was trespassed from that location.
3:58 p.m. — 700 block of South Nova Road
Larceny. Last month, a 79-year-old Ormond Beach woman discovered nearly $3,000 worth of fraudulent charges on her bank account, and notified police of the theft.
She told police that her purse was stolen while she was at work, and once at home, she saw that the majority of the charges were ran through a mobile payment application, and a few through GoFundMe.
Later, police got in contact with the woman again, who said that she had spoken to a person connected with the fraudulent charges who said they sold wigs, and that an unidentified woman had come into their shop purchased their entire inventory. They promised to refund the woman's money, but this never happened.
Police determined the person's statements to refund were not legitimate.
