This Weekend: Strumming into Flagler, the North Florida FolkFest

The second-annual North Florida FolkFest will be 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Florida Agricultural Museum, just off of U.S. 1, in Northeast Flagler County.

The North Florida Folk Network and the Florida Agricultural Museum are jointly presenting the festival, a family oriented acoustic music event. More than a dozen Florida’s singer/songwriters will be performing on two stages. There will also be a jam session and an open mic stage.

Performing at this year’s event are Bob Patterson, Emmett Carlisle, Ellen Bukstel, Karen Zack, Ron & Mary, Al Poindexter and RiverRise, Tammerlin, Chris Kastle, James Hawkins, Maja Gitana, Jackson Creek, Terry Whitehead, Too Many Smiths, Gatorbone, and Michael Campbell.

Admission is $12 per person in advance or $15 at the gate.

Relay For Life Rummage Sale — 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Cattleman's Hall at the Flagler County Fairgrounds, 150 Sawgrass Road, Bunnell. Open to any Relay teams, businesses, organizations or groups that would like to raise money to support the fight against cancer. Call 503-0549.

Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day — 2 p.m. at the Palm Coast VFW, 47 Old Kings Road. Doors open at 2 p.m., program begins at 3 p.m. followed by a buffet and music/dancing. Free for all Vietnam Veterans. Tickets for all other guests are $10. Call 446-8696.

Family Fun and Safety Day
— 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Florida Hospital Flagler, 60 Memorial Medical Parkway. This community, health and wellness celebration will feature dozens of local businesses, live community music groups, Kids Zone with bounce houses and a health fair tent with information on local services.
