Do you have unwanted prescriptions at home? The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bunnell and Flagler Beach Police Departments will hold a prescription pill take-back 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at several locations throughout the county.

Residents are invited to safely discard expired and unwanted medications as part of the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day that is being coordinated by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

“This is a terrific cooperative effort between our local and federal law enforcement partners to dispose of unwanted medications in a safe, simple and environmentally friendly manner,” said Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfre.

Residents will be able to drive up, drop off the unwanted medication, and drive away. No personal information is needed or will be requested. The agencies will then properly dispose of the medications.
This prevents unwanted drugs from being flushed away or thrown in the garbage, which can end up in the county dump and in the water supply.

Expired or unwanted prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbals, veterinary medications and needles will also be accepted.

The pill drop is scheduled at the following locations:
Belle Terre Crossing Shopping Plaza -parking lot
4950 Belle Terre Parkway

Palm Harbor Shopping Plaza - parking lot
298 Palm Coast Parkway N.E.

Palm Coast Town Center Shopping Plaza - parking lot
800 Belle Terre Parkway

Bunnell Police Department
200 S. Church St., Bunnell

Flagler Beach Police Department
204 S. Flagler Ave., Flagler Beach
