The meeting room at MG Grand on the Halifax, in Holly Hill, was loud and boisterous July 31, as 160 real estate agents, associates and friends from Ormond Beach and beyond gathered to play bingo for a worthy cause.

“We raised $3,500 to fight breast cancer,” said Debbie Callahan, agent with Adams Cameron & Co. Realtors, which has an office in Ormond Beach, and co-chair of the REALTORS Sold 4 the Cause organizing committee.

Rose Roberts, of Ormond Beach's ReMax Property Center, was the event's second co-chair.

Profits benefited the American Cancer Society.

“So many of our friends and associates have been touched by this terrible disease,” Callahan said.

Additional fund raising events are planned, she added, including Bratini Oct. 26, a event in which well-known local men model bras. She said more than 2,000 people attended last year.
