+ Grand Haven marks highest sales in 5 years

Grand Haven Realty announced Thursday that combined real estate and construction sales was $33,735,941 in 2012, the highest figure in five years.

A total of 70 homes sold at prices higher than $300,000. The average sales price for lots increased by approximately 9%. The planned community also constructed 16 new custom homes in 2012, five more than the year before.

+ New degree program for Embry-Riddle

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University announced last week the launch of the nation’s first bachelor’s degree in commercial space operations, citing a fast-exchanging commercial space sector as reason.

+ Flagler business named top romantic inn

Island Cottage & Oceanfront Inn and Spa in Flagler Beach has been named on the list, “Top 10 Most Romantic Inns in the World,” compiled by BedAndBreakfast.com. The inn is at 2316 S. Oceanshore Bldv. Call 439-0092.

+ Rookies of the year recognized
