Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center is the only facility in the area to be designated as a Center of Excellence in Woman’s Health Surgeries, by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Earning this title means that the hospital both met the institute’s standards and demonstrated that it has kept up to date with best practices. The facility also had to show at least a 40% success rate in minimally invasive surgery; the hospital’s rate was 90%.

All four OB/GYN physicians at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center — Dr. Meetesh Desai, Dr. Linda Haddox, Dr. Ted Robertson and Dr. Cecille Tapia-Santiago — are also certified by AIMIS, making them the only physicians in Volusia and Flagler counties with the designation.

The hospital recently earned an A, from The Leapfrog Group, for hospital safety, as well. The rating was based on the number of preventable medical errors, injuries, accidents and infections occurring at the hospital.

Ormond Beach’s Dr. John White delivered Palm Coast couple Marcy and Stephen Eisele’s baby boy, Jackson Finn, into the world at 8:29 p.m. Tuesday, June 4. But this wasn’t the first Eisele baby White has delivered.

White has delivered all of the Eisele’s four children, one a year for the past four years, each at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.

The Palm Coast couple has been together almost 20 years.
