FTI, Adult Ed: Congrats Graduates!

Adult and Community Education and Flagler Technical Institute held a combined graduation Wednesday, June 12 graduating a combined 224 students.

Included in the Adult and Community Education graduates were eight from the Transitions program, 17 ESOL graduates and 96 graduates from the Adult High School and GED program.

Six GED students were recognized for achieving above a 3,000 on the GED test: Steven Dockins, Trevor G. Edge, Zane Hatfield, Daniel Parker, Hernan C. Perez and Samantha D. Shoemaker. Hatfield was also recognized for scoring a perfect 800 on the reading portion and Shoemaker for scoring a perfect 800 on the social studies portion. Wesley Berry and Zachary Halladay were recognized for scoring a 3 on the U.S. history end of course assessment, and Devone Taylor was recognized for scoring a 5 on the FCAT Reading.

Scholarships were also awarded at the ceremony. Adult Ed/GED graduate scholarship winners are as follows: Amanda Hunt, Hatfield, Sean Chestnut, Marie Lexima, Berry, Lissette DeLvalle, Kari-Lynn Riera, Leroy Shane, Jacob Spicer and Devone Taylor.

FTI graduated 103 students from 12 programs.

Cosmetology student Jenna Detherow was recognized during the ceremony for receiving the Joy & Care-Giving Foundation scholarship mid-way through the school year.
