Whispering Meadows Ranch swung into spring this weekend with its annual spring event.

Whispering Meadows is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the mission to enrich the lives of those with disabilities and special needs through its recreational, educational and equine programs.

Event attendees were able to see additions made to the ranch this year, including the garden planted by Flagler Palm Coast High School students and a swing set built by Flagler Technical Institute students.

In addition to raising funds for materials, this year's spring festival was also used to raise funds for veterinary bills for one of the therapy horses, which recently had surgery for colic.

“Even though we are open to the schools, it’s important to remember that they don’t fund the project,” said Kristine Aguirre, program coordinator.
