As the flags for each military branch were presented on Sunday afternoon in the dining room at the Palm Coast Veterans of Foreign War, veterans and family of those who served stood up and sang along proudly with the hymn.

The afternoon Veterans Day dinner was not the only celebration the local VFW had planned this year. Monday morning, the post also hosted a ribbon cutting and an official unveiling of the new Warrior Room at the post. It took more than four years for the Warrior Room to become a reality, but now, each wall represents a different era of war. The room is one of nostalgia, but also something the post hopes to use to teach younger generations about patriotism.
