Cornelius, Stokes named officers of quarter

The Ormond Beach Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association and Police Chief Andy Osterkamp named officers Lloyd Cornelius and Gregory Stokes the Ormond Beach Police Department’s officers of the quarter, in a meeting earlier this year.

Both officers were also selected for distinguished service awards in Public Safety by the Volusia League of Cities.

Ormond Beach author Melanie Z.’s latest book “Kato the True Story of a Siamese Cat,” has just been released by PublishAmerica.

Ormond Memorial Art Museum will host “Pulp Fiction: Not the Movie,” 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, where journalist Audrey Parente will discuss her book chronicling the life of pulp master Theodore Roscoe, who retired in Ormond Beach.

Neighbor to Family Inc.’s first Sibling Stampede 5K Family Walk/Run will take place 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Sun Splash Park, 611 S. Atlantic Ave. Proceeds will benefit the lives of sibling foster children. Call 248-0712.
