It’s some kids’ favorite part of school: playing with Legos.

Teresa Philips, a teacher at Belle Terre Elementary School, brought some fellow Lego enthusiasts with her to the April 1 meeting of the School Board to report on their recent activities, which were funded by a Dell Trayer Flagler County Education Foundation Grant.

At first, the Brick Builders Club met once a month, but then it grew to twice a month, for an hour before school. Now, the club has 70 kids who are honing their engineering skills through playing with Legos. They recently finished home designs, and next, they will work on robotics.
