Around 200 Ormond Beach residents were rooting for their favorite team at Service Center World on Super Bowl Sunday.
Hosted by Volusia Computers, the fifth-annual Super Bowl Tailgate Party raised $1,250 for the Arc of Volusia Inc., an organization that helps adults with severe disabilities.
Mark Brigandi, owner of Volusia Computers and organizer of the event, said it stemmed from a northern family tradition.
“We always had a Super Bowl party every year,” Brigandi said. “I started thinking about five years ago to throw a Super Bowl party, invite friends, family and customers.”
The party started at 2 p.m. and had plenty to do before kick off. There were raffles for TVs and an official Super Bowl program, a blow up basketball and football toss, food and live entertainment from the band Nickoloff. Football fans watched the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos inside the warehouse on a 25 foot screen.
“It turned out, everybody’s having a great time and it has continually grown," Brigandi said.
