The Casements was cloaked in a flowery aroma Wednesday afternoon, as the Ormond Beach Garden Club hosted its 50th Sweetheart Tea and Flower Party.

In honor of its milestone, this year's show was titled “The Golden Age of Flowers, Celebrating 50 years of Flower Shows.” Zetta Gillespie, organizer of the event, said they even created a Golden Years category.

"We have it judged by the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs," Gillespie said. "This is our 50 golden years, so we wanted to do a mass design competition."

First-, second- and third-place winners were selected from each category, which included floral, breakfast tray and dish arrangements.

"It draws people from the community into The Casements," Gillespie said. "And people love The Casements."

The Ormond Beach Garden Club meets at The Casements the first Wednesday of every month.
