A community problem-solving group from Flagler Palm Coast High School, called Every1 Plays Saturdays, is striving for inclusion within the Flagler County community. Once a month, this group is trying to hold sporting events for students with disabilities. Each month, a different sports team hosts the event for students can to try a variety of sports.
So far, Every1 Plays Saturdays has held a tennis event at the Belle Terre Swim and Racquet Club, and they held a track event with the FPC track team. All age groups are invited.

Flagler Schools to host districtwide math madness
It's kind of like March madness, except for math! Math Madness is a competition for kindergarten through sixth-grade students in all local elementary schools.
Beginning in January, classroom-level competition took place and winners from each classroom were determined. This month, the school-wide competition is taking place to determine the winners from each grade level. At 6:30 p.m. March 19, at Wadsworth Elementary School, the champion from each school, in grades 3-6, will compete to determine the District Champion for 2014.
The competition will feature applications of mental math skills (no pencil or paper).
FPC lacrosse teams with Pizza Hit for fundraiser
The Flagler Palm Coast High School boy’s lacrosse team has teamed up with Pizza Hut for a fundraiser. On Feb. 27, any pizza that customers buy using coupons or the online order code “BULLDOGS,” Pizza Hut will donate 20% of the order to the team.
Beach 5K raises funds for Old Kings arts programs
The third-annual Have a Heart for the Arts 5K and Fun Run was held Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Flagler Beach Pier. Nearly 100 runners were present for the event, which benefitted Old Kings Elementary School Art and Music Programs.
Anthony Wild, of Kids Rock the Nation, kicked off the festivities by presenting a guitar to Marisa Canzales, the recipient of this year's outstanding musical student award. Christopher Knox, a Rymfire Elementary School sixth-grade teacher and kid yoga instructor, was the first adult to cross the finish line for the 5K, and Timothy McGuire was the first student to complete the 5k.
The kids' half-mile fun run followed with competitors from ages 3-14. Event Coordinator Rodney Harshbarger said he was extremely appreciative of the public support.
